Ogun State Police Pursue Suspects in N40.6 Million Knorr Seasoning Theft and Diversion Case

Joseph Nwakpe and others are currently being pursued by the Ogun State Police Command for their alleged involvement in the theft and diversion of Knorr seasoning goods worth N40.6 million. This incident unfolded when Pedro Okanlawon, a transport manager at Lap Global Resource, hired them to transport 2,085 cases of Knorr seasoning from Agbara to Onitsha and Port Harcourt. The transportation was carried out using a customised Mercedes Benz truck with the registration number 3364N244722, featuring the inscriptions “Never give up” and “Ifeomachukwu” at the front.

Despite Okanlawon’s efforts to contact Nwakpe and his associates, they remained unresponsive, prompting him to report the matter to the police. The investigation conducted by the police resulted in the apprehension of the truck’s driver, Danladi Suleiman, on September 5, 2023. Suleiman, who hails from Ayetoro along the Agbara/Badagry Expressway, has confessed to his involvement in the crime. However, further investigations are currently underway, as stated by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola.
