6,240 sacks of dynamite explosives intercepted by Customs in Kebbi

The Nigeria Customs joint border patrol team on intelligence-based patrol have intercepted 6,250 sacks of dynamite explosives en route to Kebbi along Yauri-Jega road. According to Comptroller of Customs, Kebbi State, Mr Ernest Iheanacho, the explosives were loaded in a canter vehicle with registration number Zur 882 ZY, which was intercepted immediately, leading to the arrest of the driver, one Abdullahi Aliyu, who was billed to hand over to Alhaji Mustapha Garba Jega, the receiver. 118 inmates have reportedly escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, after a downpour on Wednesday night wreaked havoc on the facility.
