Newlywed bride and two Sisters-in-Law Freed After N7million Ransom Payment

In a terrifying ordeal lasting five days, a newlywed woman named Mrs. Rukkayat Musa and her two sisters-in-law have been freed from captivity.

They were kidnapped from their home in Ilorin, Kwara State, by armed assailants who broke into their rented apartment on Emir’s road.

Rukkayat’s husband managed to escape, but she and her sisters were taken away by the kidnappers. The abductors demanded a ransom of N7 million for their release.

Fortunately, the victims were released in the early hours of yesterday after the family paid the ransom. The exact details of their rescue and whether the police were involved remain unclear.

A concerned relative, who reported the incident to the police, called upon the governor and security forces to address the rising insecurity and frequent raids on homes in the state.

The police spokesperson, Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi, stated that he had no information about the kidnapping or the subsequent release.
