In a recent operation conducted by the Delta State Police Command, officers have successfully neutralized the armorer of a notorious gang during a raid on criminal hideouts in the state. The incident took place on June 23, 2023, in the Warri metropolis.

Under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, who instructed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders to purge their respective areas of criminal elements, the Divisional Police Officer of ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mahmud, led his team in the operation.

Based on actionable intelligence, the DPO and his operatives launched a raid at the hideouts of a criminal gang situated along Stadium Road, Warri, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect. The individual, upon interrogation, admitted to being a member and the armorer of the notorious ‘Bobone’ armed robbery group, known for their reign of terror in Warri and its surroundings.

While the assailants managed to escape with gunshot injuries, the suspect in question sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away during the course of medical intervention.
