The Presidency has reportedly spent about N37.6 billion on travel-related expenses between June 2023 and April 2026, according to an analysis of government spending records.
The figure, put at approximately N37.64 billion, reportedly covers expenses linked to presidential travels, logistics, foreign exchange transactions and other costs associated with the Presidential Air Fleet.
According to the report, the expenditure was recorded in different periods since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in May 2023.
The breakdown showed that about N9.19 billion was spent between June and December 2023, while spending rose to approximately N25.27 billion in 2024.
In 2025, the reported expenditure stood at about N2.71 billion, while another N477.45 million was recorded between January and April 2026.
This brings the reported total to approximately N37.64 billion over the period under review.
The report, based on government expenditure data analysed by GovSpend, comes amid continuing public debate over the cost of official travels by government officials and the management of public resources.
However, the N37.6 billion figure should be understood as travel-related expenditure, rather than necessarily the direct cost of foreign trips alone.
The report did not suggest that the entire amount was spent solely on airfare or accommodation, as the expenses reportedly include logistics and other costs connected with presidential travels and the Presidential Air Fleet.
