COVID-19: Nigeria records 565 new cases, eight deaths

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday recorded 565 new COVD-19 cases and eight deaths. This was made known in a statement by the NCDC on Tuesday. The centre said that this brings the total infections to 187, 588 since the index case in 2020. The NCDC attributed the surge to the highly transmissible Delta variant and low vaccination rates across the country. COVID-19: Lagos isolation centres record 500 deaths, says ministry

The Lagos State Ministry of Health has said more than 500 deaths were recorded in isolation centres across the state. Not less than 21 people have reportedly lost their lives in the devastating floods in the southern US state of Tennessee, and dozens missing, local officials said Sunday in what they warned was a preliminary toll.
