Some gunmen, on Tuesday night reportedly attacked Yelwan Zangam community, close to the permanent site of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), killing about 36 people and burning houses. The attack occurred around 9:00 p.m. despite the dusk to dawn curfew imposed in Jos North council as well as Jos South and Bassa council areas. Jermall Charlo, undefeated World Boxing Council middleweight champion, was arrested on Wednesday on felony robbery charges from a July incident at a San Antonio bar. Charlo posted bond on three charges of second-degree robbery and was released. The former president of Chad, Hissene Habre, who was jailed for war crimes, has died on Tuesday in Senegal at the age of 79, Senegal’s justice minister said.
