An Abuja High court has sentenced a Chief Magistrate, Mohammed Balogun, to three years imprisonment for demanding a bribe of N100, 000 from a litigant for the purpose of giving him favourable judgment. Danish national, Peter Nielsen, who was suspected of killing his wife, Zainab Ali- Nielsen and their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Petra, has been remanded at Ikoyi prison by a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos yesterday. Maaruf Sarki, a 34-year-old man, has been arrested by the police in Niger State for killing his landlord, Tasiu Shittu in Kontagora area of the state. Maaruf was also alleged to have buried his landlord in a shallow grave.
