The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has struck out the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Jegede had challenged the victory of the ruling APC and its candidate in the October 10, 2020 governorship election, which saw the re-election of Akeredolu for a second term in office. Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a 35-year-old woman, identified as Priye Richman living in Okutukutu area, a suburb of Yenagoa, for inflicting life-threatening injuries with razor blade on her teenage daughter, Ebimi Tokoye, over missing N1,500. Covid-19: Nigeria’s active cases increase by 39 – NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that the country’s COVID-19 active cases increased by 39, bringing the total number to 7,821. The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Saturday. It, however, recorded 60 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 164,207.
