President Tinubu and UAE’s President Al Nahyan Resolve Visa Ban, Air Travel to Resume

The Presidency has announced that Nigerian and Emirati officials will soon finalize the terms of the recent visa ban lift, following a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

As a result, both Etihad and Emirates Airlines will resume flights to and from Nigeria without further delay. The two heads of state have agreed, and now cabinet officials from both sides will work on the finer details and cross-sectoral agreements.

This development comes after the UAE had imposed a ban on travelers from several African countries, including Nigeria, in October 2022, leading to diplomatic tensions and negotiations to resolve the issue. President Tinubu expressed appreciation for President Al Nahyan’s efforts to strengthen relations between the two nations.
