The installation of Rotarian Adewale Ogunbadejo as Governor for Rotary International District 9110 comes up on Saturday July 8 at the Shell Hall of the MUSON Centre, Onikan Lagos.
Ogunbadejo, a 1982 graduate of medicine from the University of Ibadan, joined Rotary Club of Gbagada South in 2002/2003, as a charter member, rising through the ranks and has served and distinguished himself in various capacities at Club, District and International levels.
He was club president in 2006-07 when his club was adjudged 3rd best club in the District and won various prizes at the District Conference of that year.
A deeply committed and devoted rotarian, Ogunbadejo has been involved in various matching and global grant projects on behalf of his club and is a major donor and benefactor of the Rotary Foundation. It’s a rare feat that all members of his family are Paul Harris Fellows.
Rotn. Ogunbadejo is a major contributor to the District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund [DEWEF] and is a multiple award winner, winning special recognition awards at District Conferences for loyal performance of duty as an Assistant Governor and District Secretary as well as awards from the Rotaract and Interact arms of RI District 9110 for his support to new generation activities.
A Prince of Soungbade Royal Family of Ososa and Anikilaiya Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode, Rotn, Ogunbadejo was born in Lagos on September 14, 1959 to the Family of Late Alhaji Salman Adebayo and Alhaja Musinot Aduke Ogunbadejo, both of blessed memory.
He had his primary education at the Lagos City Council Primary School, Fadeyi from 1965- 1970 and from there proceeded to Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode where he studied for the West African School Certificate from 1971 to 1975. This he followed with higher school studies at the famous Igbobi College Yaba between 1975 and 1977. He passed both the Ordinary level and Advanced level examinations in flying colors.
These paved the way for his admission to study medicine at Nigeria’s Premier Medical School at University of Ibadan from 1977 to 1982. He graduated with the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degrees.
After internship and national service, he worked in various hospitals, including Post-Graduate experience in Surgery at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba before setting up his own practice, Aniyun Clinic on 1st September 1990. The acorn that started as a clinic has grown into an oak tree now known as Aniyun Hospitals Ltd.
The quest for excellent management pushed him higher for further studies leading to a Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management in 2001. Further to this, he has attended various courses both locally and abroad to maintain a high standard in his vocation.
Dr.Ogunbadejo is a Member of Nigerian Medical Association [NMA] and also a very active Member of The Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria [AGPMPN]. He is a fellow of AGPMPN since 2003 [ FAGP].
He is an active member of the Adeola Odutola College Alumni Association. As part of his activities, he led his school set as President, to construct a bore-hole water project for the college in 2006. He sponsors indigent but brilliant students from Adeola Odutola College through both Secondary and Tertiary education levels.
He has been honored as Grand Alumnus, Adeola Odutola College, 2010 by the Board of the Old Students Association, and served as Member of the Board of The College from 2006-2012.
Ogunbadejo is a member of Rotary action groups, such as Water And Sanitation, microcredit, Family Health And Action Group Against HIV And AIDS, and Life Member, International Fellowship Of Rotarian Doctors [IFRD] and has gone on missions to various African countries as a member of the Cadre Of Technical Advisers Of The Rotary Foundation.
He is happily married to Rotary Ann Funmi Ogunbadejo and the marriage is blessed with Children and Grand-children.
