Local Chief, wife, son arrested for kidnapping, houses demolished

A local Chief, identified as Etinyin Akamba Eyo, a.k.a 30 30, who is the Clan Head of Ikot Atambi in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State has been arrested with his wife and son for alleged kidnapping, while his two houses have also been demolished.

The State Government’s Security outfit code-named ‘Operation Akpakwu’ arrested the kidnappers in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that, his shrine where kidnappers and militants were fortified for their illegal activities, was also invaded by the security operatives and destroyed.

According to Operation Akpakwu, the Chief and Clan confessed that his son was involved in high profile kidnapping in and around Akpabuyo.

Another location under the control of the kidnappers, Plot 24c in Satellite Town Calabar, where a kidnapped victim was released a few months ago was also demolished by the security outfit.
