Ifeanyi Ubah’s Sister, Fidelia Chigbogu, Dies While Preparing for Church

Fidelia Ezinwanne Chigbogu, the elder sister of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has died at the age of 61 after reportedly becoming unresponsive while preparing to attend a church thanksgiving service in Lagos.

According to The Authority, the incident occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2026, when Chigbogu was preparing to leave home for church, where she planned to give a testimony.

Her husband, Chudi Chidinma Chigbogu, said she had shown no apparent signs of illness that morning. He reportedly became concerned when she failed to come downstairs and sent their son to check on her, only for the boy to find her unresponsive.

The family rushed her to hospitals for medical attention, but she was pronounced dead.

Chigbogu was described by her husband as a philanthropist, peacemaker and community leader who played significant roles in her family and church. She was also working on an orphanage project, which her husband pledged to complete in her memory.

She hailed from Nnewi, Anambra State, and was one of the trustees of the Ubah family.

Her death comes more than two years after her younger brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, died in London in July 2024 at the age of 52.
