A two-storey building, located on Eleyele road in Jericho area of Ibadan, which was under construction, collapsed yesterday in Ibadan, injuring eight persons. The building collapsed at about 4:00p.m One of the bricklayers at the site, Mr. Kazeem Adebayo, said concrete casting on a portion of the building had started when it gave way. The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has disclosed that the Federal Government spends N33,878,700 daily to feed prisoners nationwide. The Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Command of the service, Ikpe Linus Kalu, who made disclosure yesterday at a workshop in Umuahia, submitted that the prisoners were being fed thrice daily at N450. A tricyclist who veered into train tracks was yesterday crushed by an Abule Egba bound train alongside his 3 passengers. It was gathered that the train had left the station at Ike Aro and was heading to Abule Egba when the tragedy occurred as it approached Toyin, a suburb between Agbado Crossing and Iju-ishaga Station.
