As part of his administration’s strategy to promote inclusive governance, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has set up twenty centres across the state for the hosting of Muslims during the eid-el-fitri celebration.
Speaking at Lagos House yesterday when he received members of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs on a courtesy visit, Ambode said in the past, residents often travel from different parts of the city to celebrate with the first family in the State during festivities, which could be tasking financially. According to him, having centres across the state would give room for more participation.
He said the same strategy was adopted during the Community Day Celebration and it worked well, adding that with the initiative, government would evolve community participation in governance and enhance bonding among the people.
The Governor said on his part, he would also make appearance in some of the centres to celebrate with the people.
