The Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached Hon. Mudashiru Obasa as speaker, and subsequently elected Mojisola Meranda, representing Apapa constituency 01, as the new speaker.
Meranda, who took her oath of office immediately, has become the first female speaker of the Lagos legislature.
Obasa became speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on June 8, 2015.
