Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, popularly known as Omosexy, has expressed profound gratitude to God after surviving a severe health crisis that nearly claimed her life.
In a heartfelt message shared on her social media platform, the actress recounted her recent ordeal, which included undergoing emergency surgery following intense back and chest pain, persistent vomiting, and debilitating stomach discomfort.
Omotola revealed that the health scare occurred while she was immersed in professional responsibilities, including working on her films and attending a screening event for Gladiator II.
The iconic actress used the moment to reflect on her recovery journey and appreciate the support she received during the challenging period.
Sharing a video, she wrote:
“Happy thanksgiving! Please join me as I thank God for life and good health. (My first caption didn’t post, so here’s another, though not as passionate as the first one).
“Have you ever been told by a doctor, ‘There’s nothing more we can do at this time,’ and yet you feel like you’re dying? Here’s my story:
“As you know, I had been working on my films, and after the day’s editing, I attended a screening event. However, during the screening, I couldn’t sit upright. Earlier that week, I had been rushed to the emergency room twice for intense back and chest pains that would come and go. The doctors attributed it to high blood pressure and severe acid reflux. After tests and treatments, I was sent home to manage the symptoms.
“However, after the screening, I knew something was wrong. I threw up all night until there was nothing left. By morning, I experienced excruciating stomach pain and was rushed to the emergency room for the third time.
“This time, I was immediately taken in for a CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI. The doctor then informed me that I needed emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder, which was severely dilated. The doctors were astonished at how I endured the pain.
“And so, the fight for my life began. Today, I am here to give all the glory to God. On this day, whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving, take a moment to reflect and give thanks—for the gift of life, the blessing of good health, and the opportunity to dream of better days.”
