An Islamic cleric, Taofeek Olawale has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment by a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja yesterday for attempted robbery. Justice Raliat Adebiyi gave the sentence after he was found guilty on the two-count charge of conspiracy and attempted armed robbery filed against him by the state government. Five suspected armed robbers who had planned to attack some banks in Lagos have been arrested by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP’s) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on Friday.
