Imposter army general remanded over N266m fraud

A suspected imposter, Abiodun Bolarinwa, has been remanded in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting at Ikeja on Monday. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in January 2022 arrested the defendant, who claimed to be a military general to access a N270m loan from a transportation company, Kodef Clearing Resources. Police in Lagos have arrested a man, Ifeanyi Njoku, for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Precious Okeke, 24, in an estate at Badore, in the Ajah area of Lagos State. It was gathered that the live-in lovers stayed on Oke Street, where Njoku allegedly killed his girlfriend for ritual purposes. Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late popular gospel artiste, Osinachi, has been arrested by the police over the death of his wife on Sunday afternoon. According to a new report by the International Monetary Fund, Nigeria and 72 other countries are at high risk of debt distress or already in debt distress.
