Ondo State Police Command paraded four out of five students of the Adeyemi College of Education for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the school.
The suspects’ names were given as Timilehin Akinola, Tobi Olagbaju, Olakunle Adetuyi, Adeyemi Adebisi and Eric Nwage.
The police said they allegedly committed the crime on Funbi-Fagun Housing Estate, Ondo town, last week Monday.
The police, who did not give details of the incident, said the victim was a student in the Department of History/English and the fifth student is presently at large.
The suspects were alleged to have recorded the rape on video and threatened the victim that they would post the clip online if she reported the matter to anybody.
The suspects were paraded on Wednesday at the headquarters of the command in Alagbaka, Akure.
The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Mrs. Hilda Harrison, said the victim had been taken to a hospital for treatment, adding that the suspects would be charged to court.
She said, “The victim was gang-raped and during the act, one of the suspects, Adetuyi, recorded the heinous crime.”
