Ugochukwu Onuoha, a middle aged man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for defiling a five-year-old minor, his neighbour’s daughter. Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his judgment, held that the prosecution had established beyond reasonable doubt, the charge of defilement against Onuoha. Oshodi said the prosecutrix (survivor) was a child at the time of the incident. A Chinese national, Frank Geng Quangrong, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Kano State High Court, for stabbing to death his Nigerian lover, Ummukulsum Buhari. Frank, who lives in Railway Quarters Kano, was convicted on one count charge of culpable homicide. The trial judge, Justice Sanusi Ma’aji handed down the sentence in his judgment. About 48 repentant cultists in the Sagamu area of Ogun State have surrendered their arms to the Nigeria Police Force and renounced their membership in the various cult groups they belonged to.
