An 18-year-old pregnant housewife, Khadija Adamu, was arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for accidentally causing the death of her five-year-old step-daughter, who had defecated on herself. Khadija expressed deep regret and explained that her actions were not intentional but an attempt to correct the child’s behavior.
Khadija, who is currently four months pregnant with her second child, pleaded for leniency, emphasizing that she didn’t intend to kill the child. She used a USB cord to discipline the girl, and while the child didn’t pass away immediately, she tragically died the following day. Khadija is seeking forgiveness and understanding from the authorities, citing that everyone, including her co-wives, has forgiven her.
