Woman Scalds Husband with Hot Groundnut Oil in Heated Disagreement

A woman from Rivers State, Hope Nwala, is currently on the run after allegedly pouring hot groundnut oil on her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo Nwala, during a minor disagreement. The incident occurred in Okehi community, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The dispute between the couple had been ongoing, and it’s reported that Mr. Nwankwo had asked his wife’s younger sister to leave their home due to her behavior and the way she dressed. Mrs. Hope Nwala refused to comply with his request. The situation escalated when, while Mr. Nwankwo was asleep, his wife attacked him with hot oil, leaving him seriously injured.

The victim, Mr. Nwankwo, stated that his wife’s actions were prompted by the ongoing issues in their household and her refusal to have her younger sister leave. He also mentioned his concerns about his wife’s association with another man. The incident has been reported to the Okehi Divisional Police Headquarters in Etche, although the State Police Command has not yet commented on the matter.
