Gunmen Kill Soldiers and Abduct Foreign Foreman in Rivers State

Gunmen reportedly killed two soldiers assigned to the Ekaago-Ogboloma-Adada Road project in Rivers State and kidnapped an expatriate foreman along with three other workers at the site.

The attackers took the soldiers’ rifles and fled with their captives, including a farmer they encountered. They escaped through a nearby river in the Akani community. Following these events, residents of Emelego, Ogboloma, and Okolomade communities have fled due to fear.

The army made arrests in Emelego and Ogboloma communities, causing panic and prompting people to seek refuge in the bush. Efforts to contact the army spokesperson, Lt.-Col Iweha Ikedishi, have been unsuccessful.
