18-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Well, Fire Service Urges Safety Awareness

The Kwara State Fire Service has reported the tragic incident of recovering the lifeless body of an 18-year-old girl named Waliyah from a domestic well where she fell on Tuesday evening. Additionally, they retrieved the body of an unidentified 43-year-old man from Isale Odo Asa in Amilegbe area, Ilorin in Ilorin East Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity for the fire service, Hassan Adekunle, the incident took place during an emergency rescue operation at Ile Olodo in Ita Merin/Alore area. The 18-year-old girl had drowned in the well, and the Kwara State Fire Service’s dedicated personnel successfully recovered her body, which was then handed over to Alhaji Adisa Akanbi Magaji of Ile Olodo, Ita-Merin, Ilorin.

Prince Falade John, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, emphasized the importance of safety awareness. He warned parents and guardians to protect their children and avoid sending them to fetch water from domestic wells, stressing that safety should always be a top priority.
