Popular Instagram comedian and social media Influencer, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, fondly known as Pankeeroy, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Thursday for internet related fraud.
In EFCC statement titled, ‘EFCC Arrests Instagram Comedian for Alleged Internet Fraud in Lagos’, it reads:
“Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the EFCC have arrested an Instagram comedian and social media Influencer, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, A.K.A. Pankeeroy”.
Pankeeroy has over 500,000 followers on the social media application, Instagram. He is known for flaunty beautiful ladies, exotic and flashy cars, shoes, wears, houses and wristwatches on the application.
Chidera was not the only one arrested, but several others were also in the EFCC net for different internet crimes.
They were arrested on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at their hideout in James Court, Lekki, Lagos, following verified intelligence received by the Commission about their alleged criminal activities.
Until his arrest, Chidera, who claimed to have gone into Bitcoin scam after he suffered depression, had been presenting himself as a vendor who redeems bitcoin vouchers using the bitcoincoretrading.com platform to defraud his unsuspecting victims.
The suspects will soon be charged to court.
