The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested popular social media influencer and luxury goods dealer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over alleged involvement in an international cocaine trafficking cartel.
According to the NDLEA, KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.
The agency said the arrest followed an investigation into a cocaine shipment weighing 184.50 kilogrammes, which had been intercepted in Lagos.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (retd.), said the cartel intended to make as much as N39 billion from the cocaine consignment through its international distribution network.
The agency described KC Luxury as the alleged Nigerian arrowhead of the syndicate, which reportedly operated a cocaine trafficking route from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, other parts of Europe and Asia.
The suspect, who reportedly presented himself publicly as a social media influencer and businessman dealing in gold, jewellery and luxury goods, was allegedly using his glamorous lifestyle to conceal his involvement in the drug business, according to the NDLEA.
During his arrest at the airport, operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000 in cash, alongside expensive jewellery.
A subsequent search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, also led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, the NDLEA said.
The agency said another suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, a staff member of the logistics company through which the cocaine was processed, was also arrested.
NDLEA said investigations revealed that the cartel allegedly used courier and logistics companies to move cocaine internationally while deploying false identities and financial facilitators to conceal the operation.
The agency said some members of the same cartel had also been arrested by authorities in the United Kingdom.
Marwa warned individuals who attempt to hide drug trafficking activities behind luxury lifestyles and social media influence that the NDLEA would continue to track them down.
