The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke, who sought re-election for a second term, defeated his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the keenly contested poll held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwale, declared Adeleke the winner after the final results from the 30 local government areas in the state were collated.
The incumbent governor secured a total of 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes, giving Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.
The Accord candidate won in 19 local government areas, while the APC candidate secured victory in 11 LGAs.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
INEC recorded 1,005,800 total votes cast, comprising 985,079 valid votes and 20,721 rejected votes, according to the figures announced during the final collation.
With the declaration, Adeleke has secured another term as governor of Osun State.
