A trader, Abdulhamid Yakubu, of Bakin Dogo, was on Wednesday sentenced to receive 80 strokes of cane by a Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, for denying his sixth child’s paternity. Prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, also known as cooking gas across Nigeria continued on the upward trend, despite significant increase in local production of the product. Kano State has recorded no fewer than 29 deaths by flood while 14,244 houses were destroyed across the 44 local councils of the State this year.
