Ella Martins admits she dated Fally Ipupa, denies lesbianism tale

Who is Ella Martins?

Ella is a young and energetic lady who is into entertainment. I sing and I sometimes act. I am also an ambassador of UNDP fighting against the dreaded HIV/AIDS.

Are you married and if Yes, how long and how many children?

I would not want to go into my private life much. For now I am single. Though, I was married to a German but we have since separated and our divorce is in process.

Do you stay alone or with your man?

No, I stay alone; I have a lovely mansion in Cotonou where I stay.

You are known to be Fally Ipupa’s girlfriend. Are you still in love with him?

No, I was his ex-girlfriend, but we are no longer together. Though, we are still friends.

Have you acted in any Nigerian movie?

Yes, I did Lost Parades with Chico Ejiro and also, The God Are Still Not To Blame. I also featured in the musical video with Tony Tetuila which frequently aired on Channel O.

What is your latest song?

I have many songs to my credit but my latest song was produced in Paris and it is titled Kilode.

You look pretty. Tell us your beauty secrets.

Thanks, my beauty is from God.

How did you meet Fally Ipupa?

Fally and I met in South Africa, and we had a long relationship but now, we remain Good friends.

…And your relationship with Genevieve Nnaji?

Genevieve is a Good friend of mine; we met in 2004 when Kennis Music organised a show in Lagos. I attended with a lot of Nigerian stars and right there and then, I was in company of Tuface, Omotola Jalade, Tony Tetuila and others, it was then that we became friends till date.

Recently, there were insinuations that you are involved in lesbianism with Genevieve. What is your reaction?

I have said it in clear terms that I have known Genevieve for close to a decade, I don’t know her as such even though, we had causes to party, hang out with other friends too. She is a decent person and as for me, I am not a lesbian.

I think all this started last year when I visited Nigeria and I had to put up with her at her Lekki home. We slept in different rooms, and at some point had cause to go clubbing together with few other friends around us. I think the problem is that, her fame has turned a pain for some of her close friends who wanted to tarnish her image.

Genevieve has developed a thick skin to some scandals but for me, it is just not fair to smear people’s image. This is a nice lady who goes professional about her job so I don’t understand why anyone would want to pull her down.

Have you ever experienced such before?

I remember vividly when I was involved in Tony Tetuila’s music project years back; there were some reports that I was involved in a relationship with him. Tony was never my boyfriend; we were just Platonic friends with no strings attached. Of course, I was not happy about the stories but had to ignore them because I know that such rumour abound in the entertainment arena.

What is your next project?

My next project will be titled Success. Work has also started on it in earnest.
