The Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for bombing the Maiduguri mosque. The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and All Progressives Congress, APC, have joined other Nigerians to condemn the attack, in which a professor of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Aliyu Mani, and six others were killed. Omega fire ministries sacks Pastor for investing in MMM with church’s money

One of the pastors of Omega Fire Ministries, Joseph Aiyedun, has been sacked. The cleric was relieved of his duties after it was revealed that he used the ministry’s name and bank account to register for the popular money-doubling scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Movement (MMM). The last man to set foot on the moon, US astronaut Eugene Cernan died Monday at age 82, NASA and his family announced. Ibeto Group, an Nnewi based battery manufacturing company has attributed the loss of 2000 jobs in the company within the last three years to the uncontrolled dumping of cheap battery from China. In a statement issued by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Zamfara, Doctors in the State have withdrawn all medical services to Police officers and their families. Federal Government sponsored Homegrown school feeding programme is scheduled to commence in six states of the federation this week.
