Five persons charged to Court for illegal importation of 661 guns

Five men have been charged to Court by the Federal Government on Wednesday for allegedly importing 661 pump-action rifles into the country without lawful authority. The accused persons were arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji at the Federal High Court in Lagos. They are Mahmud Hassan, Oscar Okafor, Donatus Achinulo, Matthew Okoye, said be at large, and Salihu Danjuma. The Code of Conduct Tribunal Wednesday dismissed all charges saying he has no case to answer over false assets declaration brought against him by the federal government. Okon Ubem, a 35 year-old man from Ikot-Okpora village in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, has allegedly killed his wife, Eka Imaobong, after having sex with her in the farm.
