ASUU calls off nine-month-old strike

‌ The Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU has suspended its industrial action that started since March 2020. The National President of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi, made the announcement in Abuja. The National Task Force on National Identity Number (NIN) and SIM registration stated that the Federal Government has approved three weeks extension for subscribers with NIN from December 30, 2020 to January 19, 2021. Federal Government yesterday, extended the synchronisation of SIM cards with the National Identity Number, NIN, to January and February 2021 for different categories of subscribers respectively. Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has been cleared by a Federal High Court in Lagos a two-count allegation of alleged money laundering of $140,000.
