Idris Okuneye, controversial cross-dresser, popularly known as Bobrisky, has arrived at the Federal High Court in Lagos for his arraignment on money laundering and naira abuse allegation. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on Thursday filed six counts bordering on money laundering and abuse of the naira against Bobrisky. Bobrisky is scheduled to take his plea before the vacation judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro. Eight persons have been arrested by the Borno State police in connection with the suspected murder of a University of Maiduguri lecturer, Kamar Abdulkadir. Babalola Dolapo, a 39-year-old fruit trader, has been arrested for killing his childhood friend, Evangelist Opeyemi Oyelakin, stealing his motorcycle and dumping his corpse in a pit on Oke-Igbo Road in Oke-Igbo/Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State. Ugochukwu Onuoha, a middle aged man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for defiling a five-year-old minor, his neighbour’s daughter. Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his judgment, held that the prosecution had established beyond reasonable doubt, the charge of defilement against Onuoha. A Chinese national, Frank Geng Quangrong, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Kano State High Court, for stabbing to death his Nigerian lover, Ummukulsum Buhari. Frank, who lives in Railway Quarters Kano, was convicted on one count charge of culpable homicide. The trial judge, Justice Sanusi Ma’aji handed down the sentence in his judgment.
