A 23-year-old man, Blessing Okon, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, for raping a 14-year-old girl. The prosecutor, while arraigning Okon before the court, said he committed the offence on September 13, 2019, on Ribadu Road, off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State. A woman identified as Motunrayo, has allegedly killed her husband, Alaba, aka Bama, in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. It was gathered that the couple had an argument at their house, which degenerated into a fight. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of a five-year-old schoolgirl in Kano state, Hanifa Abubakar. Alonge Toyyib, 24-year-old undergraduate of Kwara state University, Malete, was on Thursday sentenced to one-year imprisonment by Kwara State High Court over offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds.
