The N9.12 trillion 2018 Appropriation Bill has been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. The President lamented that it would be difficult to implement because the budget figures have been  tampered with by the National Assembly. Prof. Richard Akindele, who was accused of demanding sex to upgrade the mark of a female postgraduate student, Monica Osagie, has been dismissed by the Governing Council of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Osagie was a postgraduate student in the Department of Management and Accounting and was said to have completed her programme in 2018. A recent judgement passed against five Christian youths for the murder of a herdsman has been condemned by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). CAN has asked the Federal Government to caution the Adamawa State government against a hasty implementation of the death sentence.
