Gunmen reportedly killed about 10 persons this weekend in Kaduna state. At least 10 persons were killed by suspected bandits during separate attacks in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The bandits also kidnapped an unspecified number of people, mainly women, from the communities during the operation that lasted several hours. Rebecca Danjuma, 25 and Andrew Magdem, 23, have been sentenced to 12 strokes of cane each by a Gwagwalada Senior Magistrates’ Court on Friday sentenced, for stealing nine split AC units, and three orthopedic mattresses from a hotel. The police charged Danjuma, Magdem and Lamba Ayuba with criminal trespass, joint act and theft. While Danjuma and Magdem pleaded guilty, Ayuba pleaded not guilty. Kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, was on Friday sentenced to life imprisonment after a four-year trial, for conspiring with two others to kidnap Mr Donatius Dunu, Chief Executive Officer, Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency operatives have arrested singers Zinoleesky and Mohbad after a midnight raid on their residence in Lagos.
