Attack at Chinese Kindergarten: Six dead

On Monday, a tragic incident occurred at a kindergarten in the city of Lianjiang, located in South China’s Guangdong province. According to a spokeswoman for the city government, six individuals lost their lives, and one person was injured in an attack.

The victims included a teacher, two parents, and three students. The spokeswoman did not provide specific details regarding the identities and ages of the victims, as well as the weapon used in the attack. However, she confirmed that one suspect has been apprehended, and a police investigation is currently underway.

The incident took place at approximately 7:40 am local time, as reported by the state-backed China News Network. It is important to note that China has strict regulations against private firearm ownership, which means firearms are not easily accessible to citizens.

However, there have been incidents involving stabbings in recent years, as firearms are not the only means used in such attacks.

Tragic events targeting schools have occurred throughout the country in the past, leading authorities to increase security measures in educational institutions.
