A pregnant woman and four others were killed when armed bandits attacked Alkalije village in the Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State in the early hours of Monday. Residents said the gunmen stormed the community, located in the Kilgori District near the border with Kebbi State and Silame Local Government Area, and began shooting indiscriminately.
