Operation Safe Haven Recovers 130 Illegal Weapons in Plateau State

The Special Military Task Force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), responsible for peacekeeping in Plateau and nearby areas, recovered 130 illegal weapons during their joint operations.

The Commander, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, handed over the weapons to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) in Jos. The recovery involved both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to combat insecurity.

The seized weapons included various types such as AK-47 rifles, pistols, dane guns, and ammunition. Maj.-Gen. Abubakar thanked the residents for their support and vowed to continue their mission professionally and decisively.

Maj.-Gen. Hamza Bature from NCCSALW praised OPSH’s efforts in tackling insecurity and urged the public to provide support through information sharing to combat all forms of insecurity in the nation.
