NURTW National President and Members Arrested for Public Disturbance and Homicide Charges

The FCT Police Command has arrested Tajudeen Baruwa, the national president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), along with more than 20 other members due to their involvement in public disturbances and breaches of peace. They are set to face charges in court, including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and actions likely to incite public unrest.

Following a conflict within the union at the Garki 2 office, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, confirmed the arrest of 23 male suspects and the recovery of weapons, including three rifles. Tragically, one person lost their life during the violent altercation, leading to the arrest of numerous union members.
