Man cuts off two fingers of wife for money rituals

Police detectives in Oba-ile, Ondo state have arrested a 42-year-old man, ldowu Benson for reportedly cutting off two fingers of his wife Kemi for money ritual.
A source hinted that the suspect on August 3 this year at about 7:30pm put on a mask and armed with cutlass pretended to be an hired assasin invaded his own house and attacked his wife. The attack was said to have taken place at Kardors College Street, off Akure/ Owo expressway, Oba-ile in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
During the attack, the suspect was said to have informed the wife on gaining entry into the house that he was sent to kill her and in the process matcheted her on the head and cut off two of her fingers. It was learnt that the fingers were chopped off while the wife was trying to fence off the machete from cutting off her head. The suspect reportedly asked the wife the whereabout of her husband during the attack. The suspect was said to have went away with his wife two fingers which was alleged was for money rituals. Police source said that the wife bled profusely until help came from neighbours who heard her distress call. The incident was reported at the police station by the victim and detectives swung into action only for their findings to reveal that it was an inside job.
It was gathered that the suspects telephone dropped inside the room from his pocket while he attacked his wife. After the attack and having fled with the fingers of his wife, the suspect later returned to the house and was reportedly searching for his telephone. Report had it that the suspect was invited and investigations revealed that he masterminded the attack and he confessed to the police. The police image maker Femi Joseph said the suspect confessed attacking the wife blaming it on the devil.
Joseph said the suspect however denied using the chopped off fingers for money rituals. According to Joseph the suspect was yet to confess where he kept the two fingers of his wife that he chopped off during the attack.
