Esther Godwin, a woman from Idanre, Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command. She is accused of pouring hot water on Endurance Samuel, whom she believed was having an illicit affair with her husband.
According to Samuel, she was called by Esther to collect palm oil that her husband owed her. Samuel worked as a laborer on Esther’s husband’s farm and for other farmers in the town.
However, when Samuel arrived at Esther’s shop, she was allegedly attacked with hot water, even though she denied having any romantic involvement with Esther’s husband.
Esther’s husband, Godwin, also denied any affair with Samuel and claimed to be covering the victim’s medical expenses since the incident occurred.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed that Esther Godwin has been charged to court, and she is no longer in police custody.
