The growing political influence of the controversial businessman and Chairman, mobilization Committee in the South-West (PDP), Kashamu Buruji seems to have transcend beyond the expected barrier as the man has suddenly become the lord of the manor, determining who gets what in Ogun State.
Insiders kicked that, he is the main person causing and promoting factions of PDP in Ogun State. Sources say, he insisted on having a dominant say on who would be picked as gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, and he got what he wanted as he picked Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s loyalist, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), leaving the former governor with no control over his former aide.
It was also said that, when the issue of GNI’s running mate came up, he insisted on having his way at the detriment of other stakeholders.
A strong source told TOP NEWS that, while Awujale of Ijebuland and others pushed for the Oba’s cousin as running mate, but Buruji refused and insisted on having his own person again. He is said to be behind Bilau Adekunle who is Isiaka’s running mate.
It was also said that, the matter went up to the presidency where meetings were held amongst Ogun stakeholders to resolve the issue but compromise could not be reached despite two night meetings.
A source also squealed that, despite the President’s intervention in the matter, Kashamu still displayed arrogance insisting he must have his say.
Vice President Namadi Sambo who led them to the meeting with his boss was said to have been taking aback by Kashamu’s attitude in the presence of his boss.
