An Anambra-based native doctor named Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki was abducted by gunmen in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state. The incident took place on Sunday night when armed men stormed his hotel in the Oba community.
Sadly, his two bodyguards were shot dead during the abduction. The ease with which the operation was carried out has raised concerns in the community about the native doctor’s actual power and status.
Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki was well-known for boasting about his supposed wealth and influence, attracting people seeking anti-bullet charms and money rituals to his mansion in the community.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the abduction, stating that it occurred around 11:30 p.m. The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has ordered the police operatives to pursue the abductors and secure the native doctor’s release.
