Family in Abuja Left Traumatized as Men in “NPF” Vests Raid Their Home, Allegedly Rob and Assault Them

In the Bako area of the Kwali Area Council in Abuja, members of a family were subjected to a harrowing ordeal when four men wearing vests with the inscription “NPF,” suspected to be from the Nigeria Police Force, invaded their home on Thursday. The incident occurred around 7 am when the men drove into the family’s residence without an arrest warrant.

According to Kehinde, a family member, the intruders ransacked the house and seized personal belongings, including phones, clothes, and their mother’s handbag, which contained approximately N300,000. The men went as far as handcuffing two of Kehinde’s brothers and appeared to be taking them to an unknown location. However, when their elder brother, Ahmed, resisted, he was also forcibly taken along with them.

During the invasion, Kehinde’s mother was also subjected to assault. The men, clad in police vests, did not offer any explanation for their actions and even resorted to violence, slapping Kehinde’s elder brother. When Kehinde and his mother confronted the intruders, the situation escalated.

Fortunately, as attention from neighbors and passersby gathered, the men decided to release Kehinde’s brothers and fled the scene with the stolen belongings. They even fired a gunshot before making their escape.

Despite efforts to find the perpetrators at local police stations in Kwali and Gwagwalada, the family was unable to locate them, raising concerns about the authenticity of the men’s affiliation with the police force. The family remains distressed and uncertain about the identity and motives of the intruders.
