In a multiple auto crash which occurred at Abudu along the Benin-Asaba dual carriage way yesterday, about 22 persons were reported dead while five persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
Edo sector of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Public Relations Officer, Mr. George Otoaviokhai who confirmed the accident listed vehicles involved to include two buses, one Sienna, one Dyna truck, one tanker, one Ford bus, one Toyota Corolla and one motor cycle.
He disclosed that everyone in the two buses, Sienna and Corolla were burnt to ashes attributing the cause of the accident to brake failure.
Otoaviokhai said, “the bullion van actually broke down and they were trying to fix it. They diverted the traffic and it was in the process of diverting the traffic that a tanker loaded with fuel rammed into other vehicles.
Officials of the fire service were invited to put out the fire and pull the vehicles involved out of road.
