Super Eagles Escape Death as Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Angola

The Super Eagles narrowly escaped disaster yesterday when their ValueJet aircraft made an emergency landing in Luanda, Angola.

The team was en route from Polokwane, South Africa, to Uyo for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic when the plane’s windscreen cracked shortly after taking off from a refuelling stop.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the pilot acted swiftly and returned the plane safely to Luanda, averting tragedy.

The NFF added that arrangements are underway to dispatch a replacement aircraft from Lagos, with assistance from the Ministers of Aviation, Foreign Affairs, and the Chief of Staff to the President.

The federation thanked fans for their patience and assured them of the team’s safe arrival ahead of the crucial match.
