The Presidency has dismissed circulating reports claiming that Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has been replaced.
Social media rumors suggested that Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, was named as Akume’s successor.
However, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, refuted the claims late Saturday, affirming that Senator Akume remains in his position.
Onanuga emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has made no new appointments.
He described the reports as false and spread by “agents of mischief,” urging Nigerians to ignore the misinformation.
