Police Operation Uncovers 54 Criminals, Fake Currency Scheme, and Kidnappers of Yauri Students

The police Special Tactical Squad and the Intelligence Response Team recently paraded 54 criminals/suspects involved in various crimes, including kidnapping, armed robbery, gun running, and murders. One of the suspects, Auwal Abdullahi, confessed to kidnapping students from Federal Government College, Yauri, in Kebbi State, and taking them to Dansadau forest in Zamfara State. The gang leader, Kachala Dogogide, led about 100 men in the raid.

During the operations, the police recovered 92 different firearms, 760 live ammunition, 14 exhibit vehicles, one forged document, 120 magazines, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), one suicide belt, and fake US currency totaling 970,000 dollars. Two individuals, Abdulmalik Abdurrahman and Umaru Musa, were arrested in Abuja with the counterfeit currency, and they confessed to acquiring it for 250,000 Naira each from a supplier in Lagos State. The police are now pursuing the supplier.
